Local business networking group to share advice and support for new businesses

There’s nothing more liberating than working for yourself, but it can also be a lonely place, which is why here at Southend Peers we’re reaching out to new businesses to share a wealth of free advice.

Join our free workshop, ‘The Seven Wonders of the New Business’, on Thursday 19 May from 8:00am – 9:30am, to find what simple steps you can take to be successful and who can help.

Business success

The southeast is a hub of entrepreneurial spirit – this region accounts for over a third of the UK’s businesses.

However, the harsh reality is 20% of businesses fail in their first year (60% within their first three years) and this is often because of very simple reasons.

At Southend Peers, we have decades worth of experience with no airs or graces; we have felt the highs and lows that come from running your own business and can help you.

The Seven Wonders

We have brought together our knowledge and experience to share simple and practical advice that form the foundations of a successful business.

The Seven Wonders of the New Business are the ‘must-haves’ that will see your business right.

Southend Peers is made up of experts in money, marketing and everything in between so we know a thing or two about what makes a successful business.

If you have a business idea but don’t know where to start, join us.

If you’re already in business but have questions, come and ask us.

Please register your interest for our breakfast sessions where you’ll be able to learn from and meet other business owners.

Refreshments and a light breakfast will be provided.

Testimonials

What our members say

I have been a member of Southend Peers since its inception in 2008 and it has been a very valuable resource in more ways than one. Apart from the obvious passing of business, it has given me a great support network for advice, knowledge and contacts as well peer-to-peer learning. Also, because of the varied types of businesses and the wide range industries they're in, it has been a good barometer for what is happening locally in business and local economic terms too. Can't recommend it enough.

Damon Langlois, Green Light Print Solutions

I joined Southend Peers as a new business owner when I first started out. The group has provided me with so much value, from networking opportunities and support, to work and referrals and there's a massive social aspect which I really value. I'd highly recommend Southend Peers to anybody thinking about joining - both new and established business owners.

Dan Bryant, DMB Films

I have been a member of Peers for a few years now and this year I have had the privilege of co- chairing the group. My business has benefited financially from being a member of the group and I have made some good friends in the process. As for the Covid pandemic, I am sure, like me, the other members have appreciated the great support that Peers as a group has given during these difficult times and continues to do so.
